When the summer heat is on, there's nothing better than a cool, refreshing treat to help you chill out. These healthy Margarita Popsicles are the perfect way to do just that! They’re zesty, slightly sweet, and made with all-natural ingredients. Plus, we’ve got both an adult version with a splash of tequila and a kid-friendly version that everyone can enjoy.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup fresh lime juice (about 2-3 limes)
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2-3 lemons)
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 2 tablespoons honey or agave syrup
- 1/4 cup water or coconut water
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon and lime zest (optional)
- A pinch of sea salt
- Thin slices of lemon and lime (optional)
For the Adult Version:
- 1/4 cup tequila (optional, but fun!)
For the Kid-Friendly Version:
- Omit the tequila and add an extra splash of coconut water or orange juice.
Instructions:
1. Mix It Up:
Start by juicing your lemons and limes. In a large bowl, mix the lime juice, lemon juice, orange juice, honey or agave, water or coconut water, zest, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir until the honey or agave is fully dissolved.
- For Adults: If you’re making the grown-up version, now’s the time to add that 1/4 cup of tequila!
- For Kids: Skip the tequila and maybe add a little more coconut water for extra hydration.
2. Adjust to Taste:
Give the mixture a taste and tweak it to your liking. If you want it sweeter, add a bit more honey or agave. For a stronger citrus punch, throw in some extra lemon or lime juice.
3. Fill the Molds:
Pour the mixture into popsicle molds, leaving a little room at the top. If you want to make them extra pretty, drop a thin slice of lemon or lime into each mold.
4. Freeze:
Insert popsicle sticks and pop the molds into the freezer for at least 4-6 hours, or until they’re fully frozen.
5. Enjoy:
When you’re ready to indulge, run the molds under warm water for a few seconds to loosen up the popsicles. Then, pull them out and enjoy your refreshing, healthy treat!
